A Beautiful Day for an Art Walk!
It was a beautiful day and the crowds came out in numbers to stroll along Main Street and enjoy the sights and sounds of the art walk!
The day started off with the ribbon cutting ceremony for the newly named Susan Nobbe Children's Garden in
honor of our late, dear friend and strong supporter of Art on the Bluffs. We
are pleased to recognize Susan for her positive influence and unwavering
support of our Art Walk event, love of the arts and devotion to the children of
our community.
Susan's daughter Lauren and son Drew assist little Alayna cutting the ribbon at the entrance of the Children's Garden.

5TH ANNUAL ART WALK THIS SATURDAY!
-->
Art
on the Bluffs, Inc. welcomes you to its 5th annual art walk. We are so glad you are here on historic Main
Street, Columbia, to enjoy the Arts with us.
Again
this year, we closed a section of Main Street for the ease and comfort of our
patrons. The street is lined with
amazing artists, art demonstrations, music, actors’ groups, vendors, and a
variety of good foods made by community organizations and restaurants. We host artists from Freeburg to
Arizona. Some of the fine arts at our
Art Walk include mixed media painting, sculpture, jewelry, pottery, fiber,
glass and photography.
Please
join us at 10:30 for a special ribbon cutting ceremony renaming the Kids Walk to
the “Susan Nobbe Children’s Garden” in honor of our late, dear friend and
strong supporter of Art on the Bluffs. We are pleased to recognize Susan for
her positive influence and unwavering support of our Art Walk event, love of
the arts and devotion to the children of our community. Members of Susan’s family, and city and
county officials will be attending. After
the ceremony your children can enjoy a balloon artist, face painting, bounce
house, and several upcycling art activities at the Susan Nobbe Children’s
Garden.
There
is a Student Gallery that displays the best student art pieces from local
schools, grades K-12. As in the past we
ask the public to vote for your favorite piece of student artwork. Also there is a display that showcases some
of the wonderful talent of our senior citizens.
A special highlight this year is the displayed art of members of the Art
on the Bluffs organization. Enjoy!
The
Entertainment includes 2 venues this year.
One stage is at City Hall and one at Locust Street. We are pleased to have both past performers
and a number of talented new bands here including Trilogy, Fresh Burn and Sofa
Kings. There are talented individual
actors’ groups and larger bands performing all day. Come take a break and have a listen.
